The scholarship funds come from our annual dinner, raffle and auction, as well as donations by many, many neighbors. Our winners are mostly from Stanton Park and the Capitol Hill area, and have been accepted and graduate from a variety of colleges—University of Virginia, Carnegie Mellon, the New England Conservatory, Howard, and UDC. All applicants must be DC residents and June graduates with a college acceptance letter in hand and a high probability of success. The number of applicants has ranged from 30 to 60, making the selection process hard—we wish we had more to give. If you’d like to help with a tax deductible donation, make your check out to SPNA (mark it ‘scholarship fund’) and send it to: SPNA National Capitol Station P.O. Box 75085 Washington, DC 20013-5085 |
