Annual Dinner Raises Over $1200 for the SPNA Scholarship
Fund
The SPNA Annual Event to benefit the SPNA scholarship fund was held Sunday, March 14 at the H Street Playhouse (1365 H Street NE). Breaking away from the traditional fundraising dinner, this year SPNA reserved the entire seating for the closing performance of “[sic].” After the play, attendees enjoyed a wonderful high tea while bidding on silent auction items and mingling with the cast. The SPNA Dinner is held each year to benefit the Scholarship
Fund. In addition to a delicious dinner catered by a neighborhood
restaurant, activities include a silent auction, raffle, and the announcement
of the neighbor of the year.
Dates and locations vary, but the dinner is always in the neighborhood, and is usually in early spring. This allows donations to be collected in time for scholarship disbursements in early summer.
Each year, we gather volunteers who help organize this
dinner starting in the fall—this is a great way to network with community
