SPNA has dedicated volunteers that staff its committees, and are always
welcome to new members. If you'd like to get involved one of these committees—usually
a small monthly time commitment—just let
us know.
Environment
The SPNA Environment Committee works to improve the green space within
the Stanton Park neighborhood, including park cleanups, plantings, and
advocacy work.
Land Use
The SPNA Land Use Committee analyzes residential and commercial zoning
and historic preservation issues throughout the Stanton Park neighborhood,
including improvements to Eastern Market, the Capitol, and the H Street
corridor.
Scholarship
Each year, the SPNA Scholarship Committee awards a
college scholarship to several District public high school students, averaging
$1500 each. The scholarships are funded through donations made throughout
the year by SPNA members, and the donations of area merchants and individuals
at the Annual Dinner.
Annual Dinner
The SPNA Dinner is held each year to benefit the Scholarship Fund. It's
a great excuse to enjoy a delicious dinner catered by a neighborhood restaurant,
connect with your neighbors, and raise money for a very worthy cause.
